The Plus Line of German Kunz bench planes combine innovative design, modern styling, state-of-the art manufacturing, and the highest possible precision. The bodies are made from wear-resistant, fine-grained stress-annealed grey cast iron and coated with a green epoxy. The soles and sides are precision lapped flat and square. The blades are a full 1/8” thick, made from optimized tool steel and hardened to HRC 60-62 offering optimal edge life. Blades are adjusted via a solid brass single screw Norris Type adjuster that can adjust both depth of cut and lateral position with just one lever. The frogs can be adjusted forward and back without removing the blade via a fine adjustment screw. The low-profile oversized knob and tote fit the hand nicely and are comfortable in use. The tote and knob are made from locally sourced cherry.
